Andrea Colburn performs Drinkin’ Alone

Recently we filmed the full Andrea Colburn Band and we had such a good time we wanted to reconnect with Andrea to do some solo performances. This time we had some unique instruments for her to try out, and it was the very first time we shot the beautiful Ortega Guitars RCE139-T4STR, which sounded strong, deep and very beautiful. Andrea also used a Moog Minifooger MF Trem pedal on her guitar, she sings through a Lewitt Audio MTP 440 DM microphone and the audio is recorded with a Zoom H4n and a pair of Cascade Microphones M20u’s. This session features the Ibanez Troubador T80N amp, which we used at Andrea’s last shoot, and we thank everybody who contributed to making this happen… we could not do it without you!

Carl Jah talks about the Blackstar Fly

Thanks to Carl Jah for showing us a few sounds on the Blackstar Amplification Fly 3 Watt Guitar Amp. The audio was recorded on a Zoom H4n with 2 Lewitt MTP 440 DM mics boosted by a Cloud Microphones Cloudlifter CL-2. Filmed in Gainesville, Georgia on April 26, 2016. We’ve been having excellent results with the pairing of the MTP 440 DM’s and the Cloudlifter CL-2 and the audio in this video is completely raw direct from the recorder.

My Morning Jacket to re-release It Still Moves

Hey RUST fans we have the four-one-one on something y’all will definitely want to know about. We’re big fans of My Morning Jacket, who we photographed last year on stage here in Atlanta and the big news is that they will be reissuing one of their most beloved and quintessential albums, 2003’s It Still Moves, on May 27 via ATO Records. In addition to the original album completely remixed by frontman Jim James and remastered by Bob Ludwig, the reissue includes 10 of James’ original demos along with 3 previously unreleased tracks. We got an advance listen to it and yeah, it’s awesome. But you already knew that. Mark your calendar!
